| Abstract | Sometimes the parameters given to btrieve is invalid for Peachtree, as a result btrieve error message like the following will display. This document takes the max buffer size parameter as an example to show you how to modify it in the registry of Windows.

| TIPS | Solving btrieve buffer error |
| Step 1 | Close your Peachtree System and select run from Start menu |
| Step 2 | Type "regedit" and press the button "Yes" to run the registry edit program of Windows. |
| Step 3 | Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Btrieve Technologies - Microkernel Workstation Engine - Version 6.15 - Settings, modify the keyword as follows. Max Communication Buffer Size = 0x0000fc00 (64512)0x0000fc00 is in hexadecimal while 64512 is in decimal |
