TIPS Why my Peachtree runs so slowly?
Step 1 First, check if your computer meets the hardware reqirement of Peachtree.
Step 2 Even if your computer meets the basic hardware requirement, in real life situation users like to run many applications at the same time. For example, you may have your email program, Excel spreadsheet, Word document running together with Peachtree. As a result, not just your computer becomes very slow but some functions of Peachtree like previewing an invoice simply can't start because of lack of resources.

Besides, some background processes can also slow down your computer significantly, like antivirus software.

Here're some suggestions:-
  • Quit/exit some unnecessary background tasks ( note the little icons at the bottom right corner of Windows )
  • Fine-tune your antivirus software, you may choose not to scan Peachtree files
  • Increase your system memory ( RAM ), as a guideline, double the Peachtree suggested value
  • Windows NT/2000/XP can manage computer memory more efficiently than Windows 9x/ME, so more efficient and stable environment
  • If you're in a network environment, make sure your Peachtree program files are installed on the local machine. Also, you may need to fine-tune your network performance
